'Grimm' 3x15 'Once We Were Gods' GifTweetCap: For Science!

Most of the following gifs are available on this Tumblr post. Note: I was invited to do my second ever podcast guest spot (my first was three days earlier, for Teen Wolf). You can check it out at Monroe's Comfy Sweater Podcast (Ep 004). I pop up about halfway in, at 35:30. The Grimm episode "Once We Were Gods" changes the history of the planet as we know it, but hey, sci-fi and fantasy shows are allowed to do that! Shows that attempt to change history in this way may diminish the horribleness of terrible people such as Hitler (remember, he's supposed to be a Wesen as well), but with a show such as Grimm, everyone knows it's not real. Its ridiculousness makes it OK, so there.
The episode begins with a big discovery of Egyptian remains in a hidden room at a university, and a TV interview with scientist Professor Vera Gates (Anne Dudek), who will be studying it. The remains are in the shape of an Anubis, the Egyptian god of the dead.
Two guys decide to steal the remains, but are caught by two campus police guards. One of the thieves (Richard Lee Jackson) attacks one of the guards (David Hendrick), changing into an Anubis as he does so. During the scuffle, the guard's gun goes off, killing the other thief (Rafael Miguel). The living thief kills the other guard (Henry Noble) who walks in, but he is unable to steal his Abubis ancestor by himself.
The professor seems unconcerned about the theft attempt. She just wants to make sure her mummy is safe.
Meanwhile, the prince (Alexis Denisof) has learned that Sebastien (Christian Lagadec) is with the resistance, and plans on torturing him in order to find the location of Meisner (Damien Puckler) and Adalind (Claire Coffee) and her baby.
For now, the baby is safe, until Meisner finds her in the middle of the woods as he gathers firewood. Things aren't exactly what they seem, however.
Also, there are some random subtitles involved.
In the third subplot, Wu (Reggie Lee) is still feeling nuts, having realistic dreams about the Aswang. Wu has a way of looking truly terrified, and, knowing it's just a TV show, it's both sad and hilarious.
Nick (David Giuntoli) and the gang study up on the Anubis, learning from Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) that pretty much all Egyptian gods were Wesen. The trailer also contains an old-timey film reel:
The film has an accompanying document detailing how the Grimms were basically the real monsters. The Wesen only want a proper burial, and have formed a group of ancient burial thieves known as the Beati Paoli. The Wesen had been forced to woge, then various methods had been used to keep them in woge for burial.
Monroe wonders whether he should inform the Wesen Counsel about the Anubis, and Anubis thieves, but he doesn't have to. Alexander (Spencer Conway) of the Counsel arrives anyway, and wants to speak with Nick. In fact, he requests that Nick do his job as a Grimm and kill the thief, since he committed a murder.
Vera doesn't know about Wesen, however. She just wants to study this amazing Anubis creature that basically proves that the Egyptian gods may have been real. When told that the thief is going to return, she basically shrugs it off.
Meanwhile, Sebastien gets waterboarded.
Then Sebastien breaks down and spills the approximate location Meisner, Adalind and her baby, but Renard (Sasha Roiz) is able to warn them after Sebastien fails to answer his phone. They are now on the run. Will the baby improve her abilities and begin popping eyeballs directly out of their sockets without the need to hurl pens?

... and back to the main plot. The Anubis thief attacks Vera, just as she was warned would happen.
Nick and Hank (Russell Hornsby) show up and save her, and send the thief to jail. But Alexander was not telling the whole truth. He shows up and steals the Anubis while everyone else is occupied. Nick climbs into Alexander's van for a nice little chat about lying, and Alexander confesses that he is also a thief, and asks that Nick just go along with it.
Of course, he goes along with it, and they all give the Anubis a proper cremation.
At the beginning of the episode, the whole gang debated whether to tell Wu the truth about Wesen, but they still decide against it. The only person who disagrees somewhat is Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch). Rather than tell Wu everything, she tells him what she went through back when she forgot who Nick was (minus the part where they told her the truth). It's probably the best scene so far for both Wu and Juliette, and he quickly gets better, knowing that he's not alone. He's very happy to check himself out of the mental institution and be back to normal.
